My Father

By Pamela Gerdan

My father was the mechanic for all the truck's he kept all those old broken down ones alive for a very long time. If you only knew how bad he hate's being retired right now he only wants to go back to work at the age of 72. I believe if they called him up right now he would be there. And me well they were short handed a few times of course i was dragged out of bed at 4'30 am sharp eat breakfast at 5'15 am. I would often go to work with dad just to see the wild horses. My last time working as a jug hand was in Coffeeville, Arkansas. My father Raymond S. Gerdan came and pulled me off the job because I was ahead of all the guy's. Told me I'm sorry but the big boss is here and it doesn't look good for girl to out do the guy's. It's funny now but then I was not a happy camper. How did the the big boss find out I was even out there. Well Coffeeville had me on the headliner as one tuff little girl. Who would have ever thought you would make the front page of a news paper for just being the only girl on the line. So I'm 43 now and that's my story. To all of you that do remember me. thanks. Robert Hirose treated me like a daughter he tried to steer me into a good direction. DAVE AND VIVIAN ROBINSON. are and was my second parent's I hope to here from Vivian very soon. I miss her a lot.
